Let’s see…
Both screens are just about the same except for that color portion on the nook for navigation.
The nook is a little heavier, and holds up to 1500 ebooks in internal memory just like Kindle 2…nothing original there.
Kindle 2 has ‘experimental’ internet access, Nook does not.
Nook offers access to over 500,000 B&N ebooks….100,000 overall content from various sources…no specifics here. Also it offers magazines and newspapers just like the Kindles. Kindle 2 on the other hand only offer access to 350,ooo Amazon ebooks…plus access to numerous free ebooks from other sources. Also, you can access, blogs, magazines, newspaper, and personal documents.
The Nook allows you to loan books to friends …the catch – you must read it within two weeks before it’s gone. Amazon Kindle does offer this service…yet!
Both devices offer wireless content download. Nook offers wi-fi as well. I don’t understand the need for this if you already have wireless access to content via AT&T’s network…plus many of these wi-fi channels require a password.
Nooks syncs to more devices for now.
Amazon Kindle 2 offers more formats minus ePub.
Finally the Kindle has gone international…which means access to more customers worldwide. Nook is local…for now.
So which device is better? You make the call!
In my opinion, It really depends on what you are looking for in an eBook reader. I am happy with my Kindle 2 and I expected Amazon to make upgrades soon to counter the Nook…so though the Nook may have won battles in some areas and Kindle in other areas, the war is far from over.
If you ask me, these are the two best ebook readers on the market right now in terms of features. Sony’s reader digital book touch edition is running a close third…and should upgrade as well to stay competitive.

The verdict:
The Nook follows the lead of the Amazon Kindle 2 in many ways, but added a few extra features of its own hopefully to give it that edge. Some noticable differences include:
Nook
Access to over 1 million books from google, plus over 500,000 books at the Barnes & Nobles store.
Users can lend books on the device to friends for up to 14 days.
The screen is divided into eInk screen for reading plus a 3.5″ colored touch screen for navigation.
There is additional wi-fi access.
Magazine and newspapers are available, but no blogs.
It syncs with a few more cell-phones than the Kindle 2.
Amazon Kindle 2
Offers syncing only to the iPhone, iPod touch, and others in the Kindle family.
Offers text to speech, experimental internet access, no book lending, no touch screen, no wi-fi, no ePub format.
Over 350,000 books available at the Kindle store.
Has now gone international.
More readable formats available on device than on the Nook.
