UVA Students Test Kindle DX
Sixty-two students were chosen at random from a total of 300 at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business to test out the Kindle DX technology to see if it will make life easier in the classroom.
Discovery Could also be getting in on the ebook reader market
Recent activities by Discovery, the Silver Spring-based media company, indicates it could very well be getting ready to enter the ebook reader market .
Last week a filing by the U.S. Patent was spotted showing that in February the company applied for a patent on a product it describes as an “electronic book having electronic commerce features.”
Amazon Kindle is Environmentally Friendly
Recent claims that the Amazon Kindle electronic reader is more environmentally friendly than its paper-book counterpart has been authenticated.
Results from a recent life-style analysis study, indicated that the research and media company electronic books emit far less carbon than traditional paper-books during the manufacturing process.
ebook Eco Reader launched
Book wholesaler, Central Book Services, has launched its ebook reader, called the Eco Reader, at The Age Melbourne Writers Festival.
Richard Siegersma, chairman of Central Book Services, said that he predicted ebooks and ebook readers would capture more than 20 per cent of the $2.5 billion Australian book industry in the next five years.
