Bob Marley museum is one of the top tourist attraction in Kingston.
Former home of the reggae superstar, he bought it in in 1975 from Island record producer Chris Blackwell.This 19th century Georgian home is equipped with old and new features. At the gate Gate is a statue of bob Marley with his favorite guitar.
Nearby seven picture depict Bob Marley from his trench town days to his one love peace concert.
Out in the yard is his favorite 1976 land rover. A tour guide is there to take you through the house and the yard.
There is a garden with Jamaican herbs including ganja out in the yard as well. Bob Marley smoked ganja all the time. It was a part of his rastafarian religion
Downstairs, you can enter the home and see dresses worn by the I-threes-Marcia Griffiths, Judy Mowatt, and Rita Marley, and a lifetime hologram of the reggae superstar.
A Modern recording studio still used by Bob Marley's children today is also downstairs.
Upstairs you will find some his favorite clothes including his denim Jacket. Two former guest room and filled with newspaper clipping, gold records, and album covers.
There is also a replica of a trench town record store owned by Rita and Bob Marley and the bicycle they used to deliver records across town.
His bedroom is laid out much as it was in his lifetime.
just off the bedroom is the porch and hammock where he once composed songs. From there you can view the kitchen where he once prepared ital food by strict rastafarian guidelines.Outside, the former record manufacturing plant now houses his guitar, photo, and a 20 minute movie on his life and career.
Nearby is gift shops and legends cafe. There is also the rock on which he sits and lay to do his meditation using his dreads as his cushion.
According to the tour guide of the Bob Marley museum, "one day he was outside laying on the rock, he fell asleep. when he woke up it was like a new day and the wrote the song "cold ground was my bed last night and rock was my pillow too."
