Jamaican beaches are the perfect spots to 'cool off, relax, on the island. Here's a list of some of the most popular.


Montego Bay Area

Doctor's Cave Beach
One of the most famous beaches in Jamaica...just behind Gloucester ave, a popular tourist resort stretch...a few minutes walk from Margaritaville and numerous other hotels.

One of the most popular tourist destination on the island, full of fun and other activities. Cost for entrance - about $5(USD).

Walter Fletcher Beach
Just down the road from Doctor's cave...and just as popular. Lots of food, fun, bathing, and dining areas. Another one of the most popular tourist destinations in Jamaica.

Negril Area

Seven Mile Beach
Longest stretch of beaches on the island. Another popular tourist destination on the western end of the island. Laid back, carefree, some nude bathing, resorts with bars, hot tubs, whirlpools right there for your enjoyment.

Lots of fun, food, drinks, and activities. Sugary clear white sands among swaying palm trees. Perhaps the most beautiful beach on the island.

Blue Fields
One of the local Jamaican beaches located just outside the city of westmoreland to the north of Negril. Extremely popular among the locals. Favorite stop for visitors on tour.

Some of the best local food including Jerk chicken, Jerk fish, escovitch fish, roots drink, fish tea, and festival is served here. One of my favorite spots...hmmm, I can still taste the freshly brewed roots drink that I had on my last visit.

Ocho Rios Area

Turtle Beach
One of the most popular in the ocho Rios resort area. Lots of food, fun activities and other visitors. several hotels located right there on the beach...perfect spot for your enjoyment in the heart of the city.

Dunns River Falls/Beach
Connected to the world famous Dunns river Falls. Two for the price of one, Salty dip in this crystal clear beach, and fresh dip at the falls. It just doesn't get any better than this.

James Bond Beach
Home to the Golden Eye Hotel, former residence of James Bond writer Ian Fleming. The waterfront is owned by the hotel,but for a small $3(USD) fee, outsiders can enjoy the sand and surf of this famous beach. Water sports rentals are available, for your enjoyment at the site where the Dr. No Movie was filmed.

Runaway Resort Beaches
Famous for its great scuba diving owned by resorts, owned by the hotels and resorts in the area. Might just be the place for you to "let your hair down."

Porta Antonio Area

Boston Beach
One more the many Jamaican beaches, small but beautiful...just outside the city. Can be easily missed due to its size. Perfect for small fishing trips and surfing. Snack stands, Jerk chicken and so on. Formerly owned by Roger Moore, he donated it to the Jamaican government.

Frenchman's Cove
For a small feed of about $3(USD), visitors can bath, surf, and relax in the shade.

Blue Lagoon
Hosted Brookes Shields in the movie Blue Lagoon. Crystal clear, blue waters perfect for swimming and relaxation.

Kingston Area

Hellshire Beach
Located approximately 5 miles from Fort Charles, this narrow beach attract large crowds. With its unique black sand, and cool clean waters,it is not as secluded as one may desire, but it is far enough from the crowd and close enough to your hotel and city to make it worth the while.

Fort Clarence
Another Kingston beach...not as popular as those in the west, but nice enough. Black sands, crystal clear water, not too crowded, may just be the perfect spot for your relaxation.

Lime Clay
Closest beach to the city, located on a small island just outside the Kingston harbor.

To get there and back, you will need to hire a boat in Port Royal...may just be the ideal spot to complete your trip.
